Tax Credit Matching at 1555 Wabash
Seka Palikuca wrote about 1555 Wabash and its offer to match the government’s $8,000 tax credit to new homebuyers back in late October. The information is just as relevant today as it was then!
From the Chicago Tribune Archives:
“First-time buyers can double the federal $8,000 tax-credit deal to $16,000 at 1555 Wabash, a 176-unit mid-rise that borders the Central Station enclave in the South Loop.
Developer New West Realty is matching the government incentive with its own $8,000 credit for buyers who close by Nov. 30.
“New West Realty will match Uncle Sam with another $8,000 credit, but the purchaser doesn’t have to wait – we will give it to them at closing,” said Terrie Whittaker, president of sales and marketing for New West Realty. “We can give it to buyers as a closing-cost credit… . The purchaser also can opt to use all or part of the $8,000 developer credit to buy-down their interest rate for a period of time.”
Prices of one-bedroom, one-bath units start at $192,000, while two-bedroom, one-bath residences begin at $262,900. Garage parking is available for $33,000.
Two models are open for viewing at 1555 Wabash. The sales center, on 16th Street between Michigan and Wabash, is open noon to 4 p.m. Thursday through Monday. For information, call 312-922-1555, or visit 1555wabash.com.”
