Gavin DeGraw, Ben Folds, MC Hammer, and the World’s Largest Block Party
Just because the Taste of Chicago and July 4th weekend have come and gone, it doesn’t mean the partying has stopped. These amazing events this weekend are sure to fulfill your desire for entertainment.
Old St. Pat’s World’s Largest Block Party
This enormous block party has an average attendance of 18,000 people! Food and beverage vendors line the streets of W. Madison as live music plays from two different stages. Gavin DeGraw, Ben Folds, Collective Soul, and other artists will be performing from 5:30 to 9pm on Friday and 5:30 to 8:30pm on Saturday. New to the event this year is its support for the Greater Chicago Food Depository. So bring some non-perishable food, your appetite, and your need for excitement to this incredible event. Rock Around the Block
This event boasts a lineup of 25 bands playing on three stages. For a mere $5 you can see bands such as Hairbangers Ball, Mike & Joe, Wedding Banned, and 16 Candles live! Volleywood Beach Bash
Put your game face on and head to the beach. This day-long tournament includes prizes and live music by MC Hammer and others. If you’re not into volleyball, there are plenty other of activities such as bikini blackjack, a boxing ring, a mechanical surfboard, and more. Not to mention the FREE day long party.
