The Greener Side of Life
As the struggle for sustainability comes to the forefront of American concerns, all types of businesses are getting creative with their resources and in their attempt to conserve. New West Realty is no different. We have collaboratively implemented a number of different operations that will ultimately make our Park Place Homes neighborhood an economic success now and well into the future.
During the construction of Park Place Homes, a 70,000 square foot building was first demolished and resulted in 13,000 tons of concrete. This concrete is being used for trench backfill, road bases and temporary roadways. In addition, approximately 19,538 tons of sand from the city was used for sidewalks and foundation flat work and roughly between 7,000 and 9,000 tons of road grindings from a City of Chicago project are being used for the sub base of the roads needed to maintain the site. We have also specified that all concrete or metals removed during the construction of the Park Place Homes site be be taken to the recycling yard for other use.
This is just the beginning of our efforts and plan to make a big difference in our community into the future. As we make a difference, we hope to make an impact on others as well.
